Richard King was born in Madison, Wisconsin in the late '70s. During high school, he wrote his very first 1000-plus page novel. It was called "A Camping Fiasco" however, it was shelved for almost 25 years. Without pursuing a publisher and intermittent edits throughout the years, the notebook withered on that shelf. In 1996, he graduated--making the Dean's List. Latent, covered in dust, "A Camping Fiasco" was an afterthought; he tried to understand his position in life; what was he to become...an author, Actor, Architect, Electrician, or Army...? After the summer season working for his uncle (in landscape), he eventually joined the Wisconsin Army National Guard (as a weekend warrior) and attended college (full time)--studying electronics. After two years of college, the entire body of students ended up in the parking lot all too often--and more often than not. One rebellious student had conjured up bomb threats to avoid taking exams or attending lectures--this crushed routine normalcy and crumpled Richard's atmosphere. Once the classroom environment had resumed, the instructors tossed material at them, playing lickety-split with training. With his learning objective thwarted, books/schooling already paid for, instruction reduced to fit a timeclock, he decided to join the army full time. Three tours overseas and twenty-one years later, he retired, giving him a heightened outlook on life. In much of his downtime, he edited his 1000-plus page novel. To this day, he is still working for the nation's veterans with the Department of Veterans Affairs, and in his off time writing. Check out his very first novel "Watches" formerly known as "A Camping Fiasco" you won't want to put it down.
